Groups and challenges
On this page
A group is a private space for the people you train with: gym friends, a partner, a club or a team. In the app they live in Social, then Groups.
Create a group
In Groups, choose New group, give it a name and an optional description. You become its owner. A group holds up to 50 members.
Invite people
Open the group and choose Invite:
- A link: create an invite link that works for 7 days, then share or copy it. Anyone with the link can join while it is valid, so send it only to people you want in.
- By handle: invite someone by their Liftorra handle. The invite waits for them in their Social tab, under Groups.
Owners and admins can see open invites and revoke them. People find and invite you by your handle, which you pick in Me, then Profile.
Roles
- Owner: everything an admin can do, plus changing roles, handing the group to someone else and deleting it.
- Admin: edits the group, creates and deletes challenges, invites and removes members.
- Member: sees the group, its members and its leaderboards, and can leave at any time.
Challenges
Owners and admins create challenges with a title, start and end dates, and one of four rankings. Every challenge card says what it ranks under its title (“Ranked by plan done”), whatever the challenge is called:
| Ranked by | Score |
|---|---|
| Plan done | Planned sessions done, as a share of your own plan (“5 of 5 planned”). Every level can win, because everyone is measured against their own plan. |
| Strength gain | The percent gain in estimated max on one chosen lift since the start. |
| Volume | Total weight lifted in the challenge, optionally for one muscle group. |
| Streak | Weeks with every planned session done. |
The leaderboard updates when someone finishes a session, and once a day. Start and end are calendar days: each member’s workouts count by their own local date.
Workouts you share as Friends & groups or Public count toward group challenges. Friends & groups is the default for new accounts: your friends and everyone in your groups see the workout, nobody else. Friends and Only me do not count. When you finish a workout, the visibility choice tells you whether it counts.
This week and the Monday recap
The top of every group shows This week (Monday to Sunday for the whole group): how many sessions you did together, and one row per member with a dot for each day they trained. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday a short recap of last week sits above it: the total, the three most active members and the new bests. Everyone in the group also gets it once in Activity.
Only workouts shared as Friends & groups or Public count here, the same as challenges. A Friends or Only me workout adds nothing, so the board never gives it away. Skipped days never show. If you leave the group, you leave this week’s board too.
The list of your groups shows where you stand in a running challenge (“Most of the plan done · you’re 2nd · 3 days left”), or how many sessions the group did this week. Under a leaderboard a short line tells you how far you are from the person just above you. When someone passes you, or a challenge ends, you see it in Activity.
Comments
Every workout you can see has comments. Tap Reply under someone’s comment to start yours with their @handle. Your own comments, and any comment on your own workout, have a ··· button: it holds Delete comment, and nothing is deleted until you tap it.
What your group sees
Group members see the group, its members and each member’s challenge score. They do not see your check-in numbers (bodyweight, calories, protein, steps), ever. They see the workouts you share as Friends & groups or Public, not your Friends or Only me ones: see Privacy and who sees what.
