What's new

Older updates, page 5 of 8.

15 updates

Google sign-in on iPhone

  • Signing in with Google in Safari and the home screen app now works. It used to drop you back on another tab, still signed out.

Friend requests after your handle

  • Adding a friend before you picked a handle now sends the request once your handle is set. No second tap needed.

Fairer volume

  • Your own exercises have a "Weight is per hand" switch, for when you hold two dumbbells and log the weight of one.
  • In Type sets, start a set with w to mark it as a warm-up, for example w10x20. Warm-ups do not count toward volume.
  • Moves with one weight, like goblet squats, kettlebell swings and one-arm rows, no longer count the weight twice in your volume.
  • Lunges, split squats, step-ups and single-leg deadlifts with two dumbbells now count both dumbbells.
  • Your past volume, records, feed cards and challenge scores are updated to match.

Your notes stay yours

  • Your workout notes and how hard each set felt now stay private to you. Friends still see the lifts and sets you share.

Friends' workouts open again

  • A friend's workout with the same exercise in it twice no longer gets stuck loading.

See your friends' workouts

  • Tap a friend's workout in the feed or on their profile to see every lift and set, in your own unit. Give kudos and comment right there.
  • Tapping your own workout in the feed or on your profile opens it.

You, on Social

  • Social has a You tab next to Feed, Groups and Friends: your profile, your friends and groups, and your recent workouts with who reacted.
  • The Activity bell now sits next to the Social title, so the feed starts higher on the screen.
  • With large text the Social tabs stay on one line and slide sideways instead of wrapping.

Everything lines up

  • Menu, share, close and delete buttons at the end of a row now line up with the edge of the card or the page, on every screen.
  • Lists in sheets, the exercise library, the records table and checkbox rows start at the same edge as the heading above them.
  • The count on the Social tab sits right on the corner of its icon, and New best badges sit level with the words next to them.
  • Exercises without a demo keep their names in line with the rest of the library list.

Your own photo

  • Add a profile photo on your profile in Me. Change or remove it any time, with Undo.
  • Photos show next to people everywhere: the feed, Training now, Activity, crew boards, leaderboards, friends and groups.
  • Your photo is made into a small square before it is sent, so it uploads fast and leaves out photo details such as location.

A note for today

  • Add a note to an exercise for this workout only, right on the exercise while you train. It shows on the finished workout and only you see it.
  • Pinned notes now say they show every time, so they are easy to tell apart from a note for today.

Rename a workout

  • Tap the workout name at the top of the logger to rename it while you train. Rename is in the workout menu too, with Undo.
  • Rename a finished workout from Edit. History, your feed card and Training now show the new name.
  • Also change the program no longer says it failed when the program already matched or the save was only slow.

Safer saves and exports

  • A warm-up rest or pinned note you set while the workout was still loading now stays, and no longer clears your other lifts.
  • Also change the program now keeps edits you made to that program on another device while you trained.
  • Date and time no longer lets a workout end later than now, and saving it unchanged leaves the workout as it was.
  • The CSV export tells you if some workouts could not be read, needs a connection, and keeps a drop with no reps empty.
  • When a group owner stops members inviting, or a member leaves, the links that member made are removed.

Know when rest is over

  • The phone app can tell you when rest is over with a notification and a sound, even when it is in the background. Switch it in Settings, Rest timer.
  • The web app plays a short beep when rest is over. On by default, and you can switch it off in Settings, Rest timer.

Find a lift faster

  • Progress, Lifts: type in Find a lift and the matches show right under the field. Tap one to open its sessions.

Members can invite to a group

  • Everyone in a group can now invite people, not only the owner and admins.
  • Group owners can switch that off for their group, under the members list. Links members made stop working then.

Pinned notes and a warm-up rest

  • Pin a note to an exercise, like Seat 4. It shows on that exercise every time you train it. Only you see it.
  • Warm-up sets can have their own rest: for one lift in its menu, or for every lift in Settings, Rest timer.
  • The exercise menu sets the rest for a lift before any rest runs, in a program workout too.

Export your workouts

  • Me, Import and export: save all your finished workouts as one CSV file, in the columns Strong uses. It opens in any spreadsheet.
  • The phone app says where to find the export for now: it is made in the web app.

Keep today's changes in your program

  • Swapped, added or removed an exercise, or changed the sets? The finish sheet offers Also change the program. It is off unless you tick it.

Log a workout on its real day

  • Forgot to log a workout? In the workout menu, Date and time lets you pick the day it happened and how long it took.
  • A finished workout can move too: Edit, then Date and time. Records, streaks, week counts, challenges and the feed follow.

Know when a friend trains

  • Get a notification when a friend finishes a workout. It is off until you turn it on in Me, Settings, Notifications.
  • It follows your quiet hours, your daily limit and the people you muted, and never tells about workouts you cannot see.
